Is your tea toxic?

Do you know what's really in your tea?

You might not think there is anything to it, or think "what can be so bad, it's just tea?" But the reality of the food and beverage industry is that there's always more to consider due to additives, various agricultural practices, and even harmful packaging.

Many tea companies take to non-organic farming for efficiency sake—the product is harvested in large quantities, the processing is faster, and the biggest caveat, it's cheaper. However, the small farmers who invest in organic and fair trade farming proudly understand the benefits of their effort—impacting product quality, the consumer’s health and wellness, and the environment.

It's important to note the poor regulation occurring within our food system is just as relaxed in the tea industry. We can’t simply see the 'organic' label and think we are in the clear. We recommend making sure your tea provider does third-party testing to ensure you are consuming the highest quality beverage.

This is why we are proud to partner with like-minded producers to provide the best, high-quality tea at Haselmayer Goods.

Benefits of drinking Haselmayer Goods tea:

  • No exposure to harmful pesticides, herbicides, microorganisms, and other toxins such as heavy metals including aluminum, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and lead

  • No exposure to toxic tea bags—studies have shown the release of microplastics (billions) and chemicals (such as epichlorohydrin, bleach, and glue which aids in helping to prevent the bags from breaking down quickly) within tea bags
